Terms of Service and Refund Policy

Last updated: 2026-04-20

These terms are a contract between you and StrataEV Ready, a sole proprietorship based in British Columbia, Canada ("we", "us", "our"). They apply when you visit https://www.strataev.ca, fill out our questionnaire, or buy our report.

If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the site or buy the report.

1. Acceptance

By using the site or completing a purchase, you confirm that you are at least the age of majority in your province or territory, that you have the authority to accept these terms on your own behalf (or on behalf of the strata corporation you are helping), and that you agree to be bound by them.

2. What we sell (and what we do not)

What you get for $149 CAD:

  • One personalized PDF roadmap for your strata's EV charging readiness
  • A set of pre-filled Microsoft Word templates (for example, AGM motions and council communications)
  • One Microsoft Excel worksheet to support planning

Deliverables are sent by email, typically within about 24 hours of checkout.

What the report is not:

  • It is not legal advice. We are not a law firm and nothing we send you creates a solicitor–client relationship.
  • It is not engineering advice or a signed professional opinion.
  • It is not financial advice.
  • It is not an Electrical Planning Report ("EPR") within the meaning of the BC Strata Property Regulation, section 5.10. A qualified person — for example, a professional engineer, a professional licensee (engineering), an ASTTBC applied-science technologist, or a journeyperson electrician (as permitted for the applicable BC Building Code Part under s. 5.10) — must prepare an EPR. Our report helps you prepare for that process; it does not replace it.
  • Rebate and incentive information in the report is informational only and is subject to each program's own terms, available funding, and change without notice.

The pre-filled templates are drafting aids for your council. They must be reviewed by qualified professionals (legal counsel, engineer, property manager, as applicable) before they are adopted, filed, or relied on.

Our accuracy claims are limited to British Columbia. If you purchase the report for a strata or property outside BC, you accept that it may not apply and that the accuracy guarantee in section 6 will not help you.

3. No accounts

We do not create user accounts. Each purchase is a single transaction. Your questionnaire answers are held in your browser until checkout and then passed to Stripe so we can generate your report. See our Privacy Policy for details.

4. Pricing and payment

  • The price is $149 CAD per report, charged as a one-time payment.
  • Payment is processed by Stripe. By paying, you also agree to Stripe's own terms.
  • Prices shown are inclusive of any applicable taxes where charged. [TBD: operator should confirm GST registration status. If the operator stays under the $30,000 small-supplier threshold, no GST is collected; if the operator registers or crosses the threshold, this line should change to "plus applicable taxes" and Stripe tax settings should be updated.]
  • We may change prices at any time. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay for that purchase.

5. Delivery

We aim to deliver within about 24 hours of successful checkout. Delivery is by email to the address you provide at checkout. If you have not received your report after 48 hours, check your spam folder and then email support@strataev.ca.

6. 30-day conditional accuracy guarantee (refund policy)

We stand behind the accuracy of the report. Our guarantee is:

If any legal citation or compliance flag in the delivered report is factually incorrect for your strata, you may reply to your confirmation email within 30 days of delivery, identify the specific item, and receive a full refund plus a corrected report.

How to make a claim:

  1. Reply to the email that delivered your report (or email support@strataev.ca) within 30 days of the delivery date.
  2. Quote the specific citation or flag that is wrong.
  3. Explain briefly why it is wrong for your strata (for example, "the cited section does not apply because our building is a bare-land strata").

We will review the claim, issue a corrected report, and refund the $149 CAD to the original payment method.

7. What is not refundable

The guarantee in section 6 is the only refund we offer. We do not offer refunds for:

  • Change of mind
  • Not finding the report useful
  • Your strata deciding not to move forward with EV infrastructure
  • Any reason unrelated to a factual error in a legal citation or compliance flag

This policy is intentional: it keeps the refund right objective and checkable, rather than satisfaction-based.

Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable rights you may have under the BC Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act or similar consumer-protection legislation.

8. Disclaimers

The report and templates are provided "as is" and "as available", for general informational purposes, and with the limitations in section 2.

To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, except those that cannot be disclaimed under BC law.

You are responsible for having the report and templates reviewed by appropriate qualified professionals before relying on them or filing anything with owners, councils, municipalities, or regulators.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Our total liability to you, for any and all claims arising out of or related to the report, the templates, or these terms, is capped at the amount you paid us for the report (currently $149 CAD).
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost opportunities, delays in your strata's decision-making, or the cost of substitute services.

Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited under BC law, including under the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act. If a court finds any part of this section unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.

10. Intellectual property

We own the report template system, the questionnaire, the site, and the underlying content. You own your strata's own information.

When we deliver your report, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the PDF, Word templates, and Excel worksheet for the internal purposes of your own strata corporation — including sharing them with your council, owners, property manager, lawyer, engineer, and municipality as needed for your strata's EV planning.

11. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the report or templates as a commercial product of your own
  • Offer the report as part of a consulting service you sell to other stratas without our written permission
  • Remove or alter attribution or copyright notices
  • Reverse engineer our systems, scrape the site, or attempt to bypass Stripe

Sharing your own strata's final, customized documents with your owners and council is fine — that is exactly what they are for.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. The version in effect when you bought the report governs that purchase; later changes will apply to future purchases and ongoing site use.

13. Governing law and disputes

  • These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply in BC.
  • The courts of British Columbia have jurisdiction over any dispute.
  • For smaller disputes, the Civil Resolution Tribunal or BC Small Claims Court may be available and we encourage using them where appropriate.
  • We ask that you email support@strataev.ca first so we have a chance to resolve the issue directly.

We do not require you to waive any class action or collective right you may have under BC law. [Clause flagged for lawyer review — intentionally conservative; some operators include a class-action waiver, but BC courts scrutinize them heavily and a sole proprietor selling a low-cost product has little to gain from one.]
